The September 2025 CR Silicone Update: Why the Order Date Matters

A material transition can leave two versions under a similar name. Keep the formula and production terms explicit.

On September 2, 2025, SheDoll announced changes to CR Ultra-Soft Silicone, describing improved softness, recovery and reduced surface oil release. The notice said orders starting in September would receive the revised material, while orders placed before the end of August but not yet shipped would retain the earlier formula. Those improvements were manufacturer claims, and the stated transition rule is important when identifying an older order.

Identify the actual version

The same familiar material name can continue across a formula change. If you are reviewing stock, a second quotation or an order already in production, ask the seller to identify the material version rather than simply repeat the brand name. Provide the relevant order number and the date it was placed. A shipment date alone may not resolve the question when the manufacturer’s transition rule refers to order timing.

Avoid upgrading a past order by assumption

A new announcement does not necessarily amend an existing agreement. If a seller proposes a change, ask for a revised configuration and confirmation of any effect on price, completion time or other selected options. Keep both the original specification and the amendment. This is particularly useful when several conversations have occurred through different channels and a short message such as new version could refer to more than one feature.

Ask for the instructions that match the material

Care guidance should identify the version to which it applies. Ask which handling, storage and approved surface-care instructions accompany the revised formula. Do not combine an older care recipe with a newer material merely because both use the CR label. If the seller refers you to a general page, ask whether any additional conditions apply to the selected finish or weight-reduced construction.

Keep claims and evidence distinct

Words such as improved and reduced describe a comparison, but the announcement does not provide a complete independent test protocol. A buyer can ask what the comparison used, how samples were prepared and whether the same body construction was involved. Even if those details are unavailable, recording that uncertainty is more useful than turning a qualitative claim into a numerical durability prediction. Request representative current images and the applicable warranty wording.

Build a traceable order record

A concise final summary can identify the body, material version, firmness selection, surface finish and weight option. Attach any approved reference images and the supplier’s care document. This record will also help the supplier answer later questions about the delivered item. The important lesson of the September notice is that material identity needs a date and configuration, not just a familiar marketing label.
